Questions About SD650 Flat Roofing System
I am in the US and have been told by 3M that the SD650 is not available in the US nor do they expect it to be available any time soon. Do you know of any com parables that might be available in the US? The SD650 looks like just what I need.
Warm Roof & Cold Roof Venting
I had the conversion done 20 years ago. The flat roof has a very shallow slope and consists of joists, surmounted by furring pieces, transverse spacing battens for ventilation, ply deck with mushroom ventilators, and multiple felt layers. It is also penetrated by a soil pipe near the condensing boiler vent. The ply deck appears to be in sound condition but blackened, presumably by condensation.
Question on Venting a Cold Roof
If you make holes in the rafters you still will not get the through venting you will need, personally I would look and try to turn this into a warm roof as its a much better way forwards if you cannot then try venting using mushroom vents.

Enquiry Regarding Old Mineral Felt Roof
I have converted the garage into a games room and the ceiling has damp patches and the fuse has blown for the lighting. The roof has a drainage hole in one corner which is not very effective , as I have previously seen water pooling on top of the roof. I would also like better insulation in the roof as there is a lot of heat loss and wind that comes through the ceiling light fittings.

I want to put a second layer of ply sheet on top of the insulation board, I can screw that down around the edges, but want to put a line of fixings down the middle, but this would mean going through the board until I get to the ply underneath.

Not only are we insulating this old felt roof, but we are also reversing the way the water drains on the roof; one side of the roof is going to be built up so that all the water drains in the opposite direction.
