Flat Roof Islington N1

This old flat roof in Islington N1 was an old Asphalt roof, the old decking on he roof had sunk into the asphalt in some places in other places it had sunk because  of the lack of solar reflective paint, mainly the roof was leaking because of the badly made flashing’s to the party walls.

As you can see in this second picture is where we have removed all the tiles and clean the roof ready for the new roofing system. One of the main problems with with working in Islington is the parking  and the removal and delivery of materials so after long talks with the customer it was decided that the old asphalt roof would stay down and we would overlay it with the 3M™ Scotchkote™ Urethane Roof Coating SD 650 system, this way we would be at the property for the least amount of time, we wouldn’t trigger part L1B of the building regulation and we would give the customer the best roof covering on the market.

The property we are working on in Islington is relatively new property most of the properties and flat roofs in Islington are old. Old Lead roof and old asphalt roofs making up the majority of flat roofs. Islington is one of our strong areas being situated near Central London.

The following photos show the roof after the 3M™ Scotchkote™ Urethane Roof Coating SD 650 has been laid and you can see that it give a lovely flat flexible roof finish.
